Commitment to Sustainability
Verta, Inc. illustrates our commitment to sustainability through action. We are proud to be the first applicator of high-performance architectural coatings with a completely chrome-free process. Our commitment to continuous improvement in sustainable operations reduces our company’s environmental impact throughout our operations.
Our state-of-the art facility and paint line feature high-efficiency ovens that use a fraction of the energy of traditional ovens. Verta’s wash system will soon use rainwater captured from our roof for our wash process reducing the amount of processing required to prepare water for the system. Water is filtered and recycled multiple times through the five-stage wash process, minimizing the fresh rainwater required to fill the system. We built our facility to be ready to accept photovoltaic panels in the future.
Verta is committed to sustainable practices on all of the projects in which we participate, not just on those that require it. By selecting Sherwin-Williams Fluropon Pure® line of coatings as our standard, we are significantly reducing the amount of hazardous materials in our process. These coatings are formulated with material transparency and environmental impacts in mind. Fluropon Pure coatings offer opportunities to comply with material disclosure and optimization credits in LEED® V4. Thousands of custom-matched colors are available in this formulation.
Health Product Declarations (HPDs) for Fluropon Pure from Sherwin-Williams line of coatings are available for download in the HPD Collaborative’s public repository at www.hpd-collaborative.org/hpd-public-repository. Declare labels are available at access.living-future.org/declare-products. HPDs for PPG PVDF coating are also available in the HPDC public repository.
